The 8th segment of Amy's Maleficarum interview is now on YouTube.
This time Amy discusses her experience of being roasted over hot coals. Not a very pleasant experience.
I'm often asked how is it that I put actors in such dire situations.
It's not easy for me to do it. I'm in more fear for their safety than they are while I'm amazed that they are willing to do it.
There was the time when I was shooting Martyr, when Natacha, after I was done shooting a scene where she was crucified, didn't feel her arm. I believed then that it was a pinched nerve.
Nevertheless, she went to see a doctor. She spent the night in the hospital, for observations. The first news were awful, something to do with her spine and that she needed surgery. It was a scary moment.
The next day, an specialist saw her and concluded that it was a pinched nerve.
So... I'm always very, very concerned with the safety of my actors.
I was extremely careful during the shooting of Maleficarum, where Amy went through a lot of horrific situations, one of them was the roasting over hot coals.
We took all the precautions possible, but we couldn't avoid the natural discomfort of being roasted over hot coals. In her interview she talks about how she felt about it.
